The Community Foundation Gets A New Home!

Nashville, Sep 15, 2002 - We kept the secret as long as we could, but can now freely tell the world about our new building generously donated by Maddox Foundation! Community leaders, Board Members, staff, and yes, the press, gathered together on 3833 Cleghorn Avenue for the grand announcement of the donation and the unveiling of our new home on June 12th, 2002! Robin Grindstaff Costa of Maddox Foundation worked tirelessly with Aubrey Harwell and others to make this donation possible. In time, our new home will not only serve as The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s headquarters but also as a place where generosity meets need.

In addition to the building, Maddox Foundation created a ten million dollar Donor Advised Fund through The Community Foundation to support charities in Middle Tennessee now and for the future. The building and the donation mark an important chapter in The Community Foundation’s history, and we are honored to be a part of the philanthropic legacy of Margaret and Dan Maddox.

The staff officially moved in July 21st, and still beams with excitement when they get to talk about their new “hire of activity.” Thanks so much to the many people that generously helped with the new move and new office space. Special thanks to Bartholomew Evans & Petree for donating a new phone system (replete with voice mail!) and to Alley-Cassetty for donating the materials for the beautiful new sign.

For those that haven’t yet seen the building, please come on by
